What I'm Drinking Today

I often get asked what kinds of wine I like to drink, so thought I’d share what I’m drinking today: Eagle Harbor Wine Company 2013 Wild Fermented Cabernet Sauvignon.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon | $45/bottle | Dwelley Vineyard, Walla Walla, WA

Instead of the winemaker adding a commercial yeast culture to the grapes, wild (or native) fermentation is when the wine starts fermenting naturally from wild yeasts in the air and living on grape skins.  This wild fermented cabernet is full bodied, jammy, complex and full of delicious dark fruit like blueberries, cherries and plums.
